Last week my buddy Dave says to me,“Dude, you gotta blog about this Marina chick from hotforwords.com.”
So I was all, like, “I’ve never heard of her dude. Is she, like, famous or something?”
And then he goes “Dude, she is hot and she is a real Philologist*!”
So last night I was browsing through my pictures of Pamela Anderson, Britney Spears and Victoria Beckham and I thought to myself, “Man, I wish I had some pictures of a hot Philologist to look at”, because most of the Philologists I know aren’t much to look at ...
But seriously, I have a lot of respect for Marina. She is putting herself out there on the web using her looks and a sense of humour about her own intelligence (which is a sign of intelligence) to promote her site (http://hotforwords.com), herself and her passion for word origins.
*Philologist - someone who studies linguistics and etymology

And I'm all like"Duuuuuuuuude!"
Dude:
1883, "fastidious man," New York City slang of unknown origin. The vogue word of 1883, originally used in ref. to the devotees of the "aesthetic" craze, later applied to city slickers, especially Easterners vacationing in the West (dude ranch first recorded 1921). Surfer slang application to any male is first recorded c.1970.
